Kinema app

App terms & privacy.

The terms and privacy notice the Kinema app shows once at setup, published here so anyone can read them first.

Terms of use

Kinema Labs LLC

These terms apply to the Kinema app. Questions: alexlee@kinemalabs.tech. Updated October 12, 2026.

Using Kinema

Use Kinema to record practice and share it with your coach. Obtain permission from the people you record and any required parent or guardian authorization. Agreeing on your device does not provide another person’s permission.

Measurements and the assistant

Body tracking and the assistant’s write-ups can be incomplete or wrong. Your coach decides what they mean; the assistant does not coach. Kinema is not a medical diagnosis, injury assessment or a substitute for a qualified professional.

Your recordings

You keep your rights in your recordings. Agreeing permits processing of the information described in the Privacy Notice to run Kinema and its assistant.

De-identified data

Kinema may remove what identifies a person (names, contact details, faces and voices) and use the de-identified data to run, improve and develop Kinema, including training and testing its models. See the Privacy Notice.

Plans and changes

Features may change over time. Keep copies of recordings important to you. Some features or groups may need a paid plan; you see the price and agree before any charge.

Your choices

You can turn Kinema’s assistant off in Settings. Material changes to these terms or the sharing scope will ask you to agree again.

App privacy notice

Who operates the app

Kinema is operated by Kinema Labs LLC. This notice covers the app, separately from the website. Contact alexlee@kinemalabs.tech about access, deletion or privacy. Updated October 12, 2026.

On your device

The app stores recordings, video, voice audio, body-tracking results, object observations, notes and replay information on your device. Camera, microphone and Bluetooth access remain controlled by iOS.

Kinema’s assistant

With the assistant on, the text it works from (notes, questions, what was said, drill details, results) and sampled body-joint positions are sent to Kinema’s cloud service, which uses a third-party AI provider to write up what was said as messages. Video and voice audio are never sent to the AI provider. Practice recordings, clips and voice notes you send to your coach are stored in Kinema’s cloud as the group agreement describes.

Service access

The service receives network information needed to handle requests and a device-specific access credential. Registration, access and usage records can be processed for service operation and security. Session titles, notes or questions may contain identifying information; include only what is needed for coaching.

Retention and deletion

Local recordings remain until you delete them. Turning the assistant off stops future requests but cannot undo earlier processing. Deleting a local session does not itself submit a deletion request to service providers. Contact Kinema about service-held information. Provider handling is described in the linked policies.

Remembered agreement

Your dated agreement is stored on this device, so Kinema does not ask again per recording or session. Settings lets you turn the assistant off.

De-identified data and product improvement

Kinema may remove what identifies a person, such as names, contact details, faces and voices, and use the de-identified data (for example body-tracking points, swing timings, drill details and note text) to run, improve and develop Kinema, including training and testing its models. It may also combine data into statistics that don't identify anyone. Kinema does not try to re-identify people from de-identified data.

Other people

Record and analyze other people only with appropriate authorization.
